At the end of every year, the National Disabled Students’ Association runs elections and holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM).
During our elections, disabled students, or people who have studied in the last two years, can nominate themselves to run for our 2026 NDSA Executive. Our Voting Members then decide who they think will best represent and advocate for disabled ākonga (learners) in 2026.
At our Annual General Meeting, Members make important decisions like passing our Annual Reports, Financial Statements, and any changes to our Constitution (rules) or how we function — and it’s where our next incoming Executive are announced!
This page talks about important dates for elections and the AGM, how you can get involved, and where you can find more information.

Here you can read all about how elections for the NDSA works!
The NDSA has five roles available, which you can read about in our structure page. You don’t have to be a current Member of the NDSA to run for our elections!
Nominations for our elections open Friday 3rd of October and are open for two weeks until Friday 17th of October.

Then, on the Wednesday 22nd of October, our Voting Members choose our 2026 Executive. They will be able to vote for another two weeks until 12pm Thursday 6th of November, and the winners will be announced at 5:30pm on the 6th at our Annual General Meeting!
Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting takes place Thursday 6th of November at 5:30pm, where a few important things will take place! Decisions made at our AGM are put out to Voting Members to decide on two weeks before the meeting. This gives our Members lots of time to consider the types of decisions being made, whether they agree, and consult with anyone they need to. At our AGM —
- The NDSA will provide our Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year
- Our Executives talk about what they’ve achieved this year, and what their future goals are for next year’s NDSA team
- Our Voting Members will put in any final votes deciding on whether they accept the above reports, and whether the NDSA should re-register under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022
- We’ll announce our next 2026 National Disabled Students’ Association Executive team
Anyone can attend our Annual General Meeting — we especially encourage attending if you’re running as a candidate for our 2026 Executive!
Closer to the date, we’ll provide the link for our AGM agenda, and the link to join us via Zoom.
